Data Centre Construction & Commissioning Schedule (P6 & MSP)

A 16 MW data centre baseline, from design to IST and handover, ready for P6 and MS Project.

Stop building data centre programmes from a blank screen. This is a complete data centre construction baseline schedule: 139 activities, 227 relationships, 18 cost-loaded resources, 569 working days (22.1 months). It opens in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project with nothing to re-key, and it passes all 14 DCMA checks.

Key benefits

  • Download the zip and unzip it.

  • Primavera P6: File › Import › XER › Create New Project, then press F9. MS Project: File › Open › XML.

  • Read the plan in Excel, P6 or MS Project. The dates are the same in all three.

  • Adapt it: change the start date, calendar, durations and rates, then reschedule.

FAQs

Which software versions does it work with?

Primavera P6 Professional 8.x and later (XER or XML), P6 EPPM via XML, and Microsoft Project 2013 to 2021, Project Professional for Microsoft 365 and Project Online desktop (XML).

Do I need P6 or MS Project to use it?

No, to read the schedule: the Excel workbook shows the full plan, Gantt chart, logic, resources and DCMA checks. Yes, to reschedule after you change it.

Will the dates match in P6 and MS Project?

Yes. The files use one shared calendar and data date (01 Feb 2027). Every file was re-read before delivery and checked activity by activity for start, finish and total float.

Is it really DCMA 14-point compliant?

Yes, at baseline: 14 of 14 checks pass, and the workbook recalculates them live. Checks 9, 11 and 14 measure progress, so they pass as not applicable until you start updating.

Can I change the dates, durations and rates?

Yes. Change the start date, calendar, durations, logic and resource rates in P6 or MS Project, then reschedule. The guide walks through each change.

Is this a real project?

No. It is a realistic sample with a fictional organisation. Durations and rates are illustrative and should be reviewed for your site, method and contract.

What is the difference between Basic and Premium?

Basic gives you the Excel workbook and the P6 XER file. Premium adds the P6 XML, MS Project XML, MS Project and P6 Excel import layouts, a blank input template with pre-import checks, and the PDF buyer guide.

Do I get a refund if it doesn't open?

Digital downloads are delivered instantly. If a file will not open in a supported version, contact us with your software version and a screenshot and we will fix it or refund you.

Can I change the size, number of halls or equipment?

Yes. Each data hall is its own WBS branch with the same activity pattern, so you can copy or delete a hall. Long-lead chains are separate per equipment type, so you can re-time each to your vendor quotes.

Does it include IST scripts or a commissioning plan?

It schedules commissioning Levels 2 to 5, the load-bank tests and IST scenarios with their dependencies. It does not include the test scripts themselves.
