Can I customize the KPI library?
Yes. Rename, add (up to 50 KPIs), deactivate or re-weight KPIs in table A. Dashboards pick up changes automatically.
How is the overall PMO score calculated?
Each KPI gets a direction-aware score (0-120). Pillar score = Σ(KPI score × KPI weight) ÷ Σ(weights of KPIs with a score). PMO Performance Score = Σ(pillar score × pillar weight) ÷ Σ(weights of pillars with data).
Can KPI weights be changed?
Yes. KPI weights are relative within a pillar; pillar weights are set in Settings and must total 100% - a visible warning appears if they do not.
How are higher- and lower-is-better KPIs handled?
Higher is better: Actual ÷ Target × 100. Lower is better: Target ÷ Actual × 100. Target-range KPIs score 100 inside the tolerance and lose points progressively outside it; compliance KPIs use compliant ÷ applicable records. Blank or zero denominators never receive artificial values.
What is evidence-adjusted performance?
Raw score × weighted evidence confidence. It is always shown beside the raw score, and KPIs under 60% evidence are flagged Insufficient Evidence.
How is verified value calculated?
Σ(Realized value × Attribution %) for claims that are Verified, finance-validated, not rejected and not duplicated within an Overlap Group, cumulative to the selected period.
How does the product avoid double-counting benefits?
Claims that draw on the same savings pool share an Overlap Group; only the first non-rejected claim counts. Rejected claims never count, and unverified claims stay in forecast.
Is PMO ROI mandatory?
No. ROI is optional and can be switched off. It uses only verified value in ROI-eligible categories, and a cash-only ROI is shown alongside.
Can non-financial value be tracked?
Yes. Strategic/Non-Financial claims are recorded, counted and reported, but never converted to currency.
Is only one Excel sheet used for input?
Yes. KPI_Value_Input holds every recurring input, in separate Excel Tables.
Can Excel data be uploaded into the HTML app?
Yes - the blank template, the Excel workbook itself or a single-table CSV. Data is validated and previewed with row-level errors before import, and nothing is imported partially.
Are macros required?
No. The workbook is a macro-free .xlsx. Filters are dropdown cells (choose "All" to clear).
Which Excel versions were tested?
The workbook is built for Microsoft 365 and Excel 2016 or later on Windows and Mac and avoids dynamic-array functions. During production it was recalculated with zero formula errors and render-checked in LibreOffice; it has not been tested in every Excel build.
Is Power BI Desktop required?
Only for the Power BI edition (free, Windows). Excel, the HTML app and PowerPoint do not need it. The Power BI files were validated against Microsoft's schemas but were not opened in Power BI Desktop during production.
Can branding and colors be changed?
Yes. Replace the logo, recolour shapes and themes; three Power BI themes are included and the PowerPoint uses editable theme colours.
Is the sample data real?
No. Northstar Digital Services and all figures are fictional and illustrative.
Can multiple programs and business units be tracked?
Yes - up to 10 programs, 60 projects, any business units and regions, with filters for each.
Does the scorecard prove that the PMO caused the benefits?
No. Composite scores and attribution percentages support management judgement. They do not prove causality or independently validate PMO value.
What documentation is included?
An 11-page PDF user guide, a Start_Here sheet in Excel, a Power BI model, DAX and setup document, and speaker notes on every slide.
